A relationship should be a safe haven for both the guy and the girl. You should feel safe, happy, and secure with your partner. But if you feel like your girlfriend is constantly creating havoc in your life to the point that you feel you are answerable to her for every single move you make in your life then she might be an insecure girlfriend in the relationship.
1. Puts Down Other Females
If you see her constantly talk negatively about every other girl, ridiculing them, making fun of everything other girls do, you might have an insecure girlfriend.
She needs to make sure you also think negatively about other girls so that she can feel better about herself.
No matter who it is, even if it is your close friend or a girl you hardly know, if your girlfriend can only point out faults with everything they do then your girlfriend is insecure.
2. Dislikes Anyone Close To You
It could be anyone from a childhood friend to your group of guy friends even your parents or siblings!
If she sees you are somewhat closer to anyone more than her she will try her best to convince you how the people in your life aren’t good for you.
You suddenly feel as if everyone in your life is at a distance, your plans of meeting get cancelled or even phone calls end up abruptly.
Your girlfriend is insecure and jealous of these people since she cannot stand you loving anyone other than herself.
3. Always Suspicious
Right from what you were doing ten minutes ago to why didn’t you answer the call, you constantly have to come up with explanations for the tiniest things.
An insecure girlfriend needs a constant tab on all your activities. You might find yourself avoiding certain day to day activities just so you don’t have to explain it to her!
It could range from meeting an old friend or hanging out with a female friend, you think it is better to cancel the plan than explain it all later to your insecure girlfriend.
4. Always Gets Her Way
This is the tricky part when it comes to insecure partners, on one hand they try hard to please you by trying to agree with all your tastes at the same time making sure they always get what they want.
You both meet every time she wants you to, you go to the movies, eat out, whenever and wherever she wants.
You end up cancelling your plans with other plans when she wants you to!
If by chance you try to say ‘No’, she becomes extremely angry and refuses to even listen to your reasons then you have an insecure girlfriend.
5. Everything Is A Competition
If a friend does something nice for you, instead of being happy about it she almost seems upset.
She will try her best to ‘out-do’ everything someone does for you.
The problem is others are doing those things out of love and affection for you whereas your insecure girlfriend is doing them just to ‘win’ some kind of competition with the other people in your life.
Sometimes it turns into a competition with you as well. If you tell her how you went out of your way to do something for her, she will make sure to make you believe she always does more than you instead of acknowledging your gesture.
It is always a “but I did more” attitude instead of a simple, “thankyou”.
6. Over Possessive
If she could, she would probably lock you in a safe box just so no one even looks at you! I know it’s creepy , right!
She thinks every girl is trying to get you and everyone is in love with you then your girlfriend is feeling insecure.
Your insecure girlfriend almost speaks as if everyone is trying to steal you from her!
You are not allowed to be friends with your past friends. Forget about females, if she stops you from interacting with even your male friends then you do have an insecure girlfriend.
7. Easily Offended
Joking around with her comes with a heavy price, she is mad about every joke you crack and takes it literally.
When we are close to people it is obvious to joke around and pull their leg, it keeps things light but not with an insecure girlfriend!
Everything you say is somehow offensive to her, she thinks you are making fun of her and insulting her.
She might even reach conclusions about hidden motives behind your lame jokes which you didn’t even think twice before blurting out.
You can ignore these red signals all you want but it will cause you a lot of heartache and problems in the long run. It was our duty to warn you! Now the rest depends on you!
